Trio to quartet

Toby Wren, a Queensland based jazz composer and improviser, has had his orchestral pieces performed by the Queensland, West Australian and Sydney Symphony orchestras. Toby has written arrangements for rock bands including George, Rhubarb, Blind and Chris Pickering and has been a member of countless jazz, rock and new music groups.

Toby has performed his original compositions throughout Australia as well as releasing three CDs of original material for his groups label and the Toby Wren Trio. Toby is also a member of the Trevor Hart Quartet. The Toby Wren Trio’s 2006 release Umlaut was launched at the Brisbane Powerhouse and The Brisbane Festival Spiegel tent and toured nationally in 2007 with assistance from the Contemporary Music Touring Program (DCITA). His CDs include Everything Must Go, Fat Lip 81, Umlaut, and The Carnatic Jazz Experiment.
