The Louise Denson Group was formed in the year 2000, shortly after pianist/composer Louise Denson emigrated from Canada to Brisbane to teach at Queensland Conservatorium. Louise is currently enjoying sharing the stage with long-time friends and colleagues Helen Russell on bass, and Paul Hudson on drums. There are now four LDG CDs – On the Level (1996), Clean Start (2002), Portrait (with Ingrid James, 2007) and Flame Tree (LDG-Latin! 2010). LDG has performed at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival, the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, the Valley Jazz Festival, and the Brisbane Jazz Festival, among others.
