Gerard participated in the European American Musical Alliance’s prestigious summer conducting program in Paris.  In his capacity as jazz bassist, Gerard has been a member of the Steve Newcomb Trio, which performed at the Brisbane Powerhouse International Jazz Festival and at the Conservatorium 50th Anniversary Celebrations Concert. He also toured nationally in 2009 with the Brisbane based ensemble, the “West End Composers Collective”. As a sideman he has performed with Jacam Manricks, Danny Fisher, Gretchen Parlato, Barney McCall, Mike Knock, Jim Pugh, Will Vinson and Mike Moreno. Gerard also plays regularly in the Qld Symphony Orchestra and has performed with many of the liveMusic ensembles.
